Psalms 19, Proverbs 19, Generation Ex-Christian
Dear God, thank You for my life, and for the way in which you organized it and ordained, and directed it like a watercourse. I see how my current faith is reflected in the way situations lined up in my life. Lord, i also am starting to see how believers walk away from You. Lord, it is breaking my heart reading this book, “Generation Ex-Christian” as i read about men and women just like me, but in a place of rejecting You… And Lord, I hear their stories and arguments, and can empathize.. If my life had been directed in those ways, I’d probably be in the same place. it’s only by Your grace that I’ve been allowed to see and find You and i pray that i keep You.. or better yet, that You keep me. Lord, it makes me hurt to know there are so many leavers out there, and to feel like You’re allowing it. Lord, i know You are so great, and You’re plans are perfect, but why does it have to be this way? But Lord, i thank You for this newfound passion You’re putting in my heart. Lord, i want to do ministry! Lord, You know my heart. You know that i long to do something great for You. Lord, before i get to complainy… thank You for my current situation. It is an amazing place to be, and my job is amazing. Thank You for what You have provided to me. Lord, I pray for Katie and Ryan. Katie that You would comfort her during these few months where the pain is great, and Ryan as he’s stuck in these dead-end jobs with no ambition. Lord, it feels so self-centered and so trivial, but i pray for my parenting… I don’t know why, but sometimes i’m just a straight up miserable parent. It’s shameful. I pray that You’ll tenderize my heart for the position, and help me to do it well. Lord, i love You!
